Basketball.

Mar 12, 2020

Both boys have been enjoying and working hard this  basketball season. I don't get to see them play very often because I am usually on dance duty. I really love watching them play when I get to. This was Ty's first year and he was the only grade 7 who made the team. He learned a lot and got better and better. He is aggressive and just goes for it. His team ended up winning the League Championship. It sucked for Ty though because he was really sick so he didn't get to play. He did sit on the bench and cheered the rest of his team on. He tried out for the Lethbridge Spring League so he is hoping to continue to play throughout the Spring.

Nate is on the Sr team and its his 3rd year playing. He was one of the captains this year and had a really strong season. A couple weekends ago the girls had some time off dance so I was able to go with the boys to Nate's tournament in Brooks. It was fun watching him play and spend time hoteling it with the boys. Much more different then when I go to dance competitions with the girls. The last game was so intense. The score was neck and neck throughout the whole game but the other team was winning right at the end until Nate tied it up and took it into overtime. Then our guys ended up winning in the end. Nate played so well at the end and scored most of the baskets. He ended up getting player of the game and I was so happy I got to watch that game.

They ended up getting 3rd place in the tournament. The night we were there was Valentine's Day so Ryan and I got the boys DQ for supper and then decided to check out the hotel restaurant. We looked at the menu ahead of time and it looked decent. I was just planning to get a salad but when we got there they were only serving a Valentine's 5 course meal so we thought why not, and went for it. It was really good and we ended up getting free champagne too. It was a nice surprise for sure.

Ty was handed the 10 and under kids menu by the waitress at breakfast. He's 13. I thought it was pretty funny. Don't think Ty agreed though.

I was also able to make it to Nate's last tournament of the season where they also ended up winning the league championships for the 2nd year in a row.

So proud of the amazing season both boys had.
