Year End Show.

Jul 4, 2019

We are full force into summer holidays and are lovin it. We finished the end of June off with a bang with the girls Year End Show for dance. Its a busy but fun week. They always put on a great show and I enjoy watching them perform all the routines they've worked so hard on all year for the last time.

I usually try and watch at least one show but the rest of the time I'm working backstage

It was fun having Lily be a part of the show this year.

Their biggest fan...well besides me.

The awards are given out after the matinee show on Saturday.

McKenna was given a partial scholarship to a ballet intensive at the Edge school in Calgary

These girlies got recognized for getting high marks on their ballet exams

Hayley's ballet class got most improved class

And Hayley got a scholarship towards classes from the studio
Such an amazing dance year we've had.

This year was special because it was Miss Joy's 40th year anniversary. I'm so grateful that my girl's go to a studio where they are given quality training, amazing opportunities, good choreography, skills and life lessons that will carry them through life, with teachers who genuinely care about them. And most important, friendships that will last forever. For them, and for me. We are so happy to be a part of the JDF family and had so much fun celebrating with everyone.

The kids also had Sports Day. Lily and I went and watched for a bit but the weather was pretty cold and it eventually rained and cut the events short.

Ty had his grade 6 farewell. He has been waiting 3 years to move on to middle school so he is pretty darn happy. And while he was planning to go to G.S Lakie next year, he decided to stay in Coalhurst instead. Either way I'm sure he's going to rock middle school.

It's weird that Ty and McKenna will both be starting middle school next year. In Coalhurst middle school starts at grade 7, and Lethbridge starts at grade 6. Even though McKenna didn't get an official farewell she left on a positive note and received the unsung hero award in her classroom. That's my McKenna. Quietly making a difference and doing her thing without needing to be loud or the center of attention. She is kind and patient and really one of the most easy going people I have ever met. She has this mature confidence that I know will take her far in life.

We had a great school and dance year but are so happy to have a nice little break. Here's to staying up late, sleeping in, and basically doing whatever we want for the next two months. Happy summering everyone!
