Mini Performance.

The girls had their mini performance last weekend. Its where they get a chance to perform all the pieces they are dancing at competition for family and friends. This year it was held at the studio. I actually loved it being in a smaller space and thought it was a bit more intimate. I was a bit worried about how I would make it work because between both girls we had 11 dances in two hours to get ready for. I had to help them change into their next costume and do hair for each dance. Sometimes your going from a curly pony to a bun, back to a curly pony and then to half up half down. Its pretty intense. I was running around a lot. Thankfully other Mom's are always ready to step in when you need help and both the girls made it in time for each of their dances looking the way they should. We were lucky to have Ryan's family in town that day for Connie's birthday, so Roy, Connie, Shannon, and Lora were able to come and watch with Ryan. It was so nice to have their support. Family doesn't get to see the girls solo's and duo's as much because they aren't performed at the year end show. The girls rocked it. They both did so well and I was so proud of them. The thing I love the most is that they both look like they are truly enjoying themselves and doing what they love. Its McKenna's first year performing a solo. She said she was super nervous but she didn't look it and she did amazing. Hayley had a bit of a mix up in her tap but right now she struggles with worrying about what other's are doing, so if they start messing up, she second guesses herself. I'm sure that confidence will come with more time and experience. Hayley did so well on her duo. I think its the best I've ever seen her dance it. It was really just a great afternoon and I'm glad they both got a chance to perform their pieces before we head off to competition in 3 short weeks! We are excited. We love our dance family.
