The first couple weeks of May have been busy, busy for us. I feel like the last 2 months of school always seem like a busy time. I went to my friends Jamberry nail wrap party, which was really fun. I bought 4 different sets of nail wraps and am just waiting to receive them. They are so cute and so easy. I'll have to post pics when I get them. It was fun visiting and eating yummy food.
Nate is running a Marathon at the end of the month so he has been training at school and at home. They only run 1.2 miles at the actual race, but are supposed to run 25 miles all together, so we have been busy making sure he will get all his miles ran before the race. He has been doing awesome. He hasn't complained once and its been nice being able to run a little bit with him.
The 3 older kids started swimming lessons every Saturday morning at 9:00am for the next 10 Saturdays. They all love swimming lessons and are doing very well.
McKenna had a snack day. Her last one of her Kindergarten career. It felt good. I also attended a Mother's Day Tea at her Kindergarten but I'll talk about that in detail on my next post. They are also getting ready for their Lethbridge Hawaii trip so we are collecting bottles and earning money for her trip. I went on a fieldtrip with Ty's class to the Galt Museum. It was fun. I like seeing my kids interact with their teachers and peers. He has lots of little friends, and seems to listen well.
Ryan's been working longer hours because of the nice weather. I'm glad he is working lots but we sure miss him. It is definitely easier as the kids get older. I don't feel as tired, cranky, or stressed like I did when Ryan was gone most of the day when the kids were younger.
Last weekend I had Youth Conference. I work with the Young Women aged 12-17 in our ward. They had a conference with youth from all around this area and a small area into B.C. We got to participate as their leaders. Friday night we went out to this nice barn and had a dance. I LOVE to dance. It was fun to hang out and dance with the girls, but its always a little weird. I am usually the only leader dancing, and I definitely feel my age with the certain music they were playing. A lot of dance music with the same beat that you can almost only jump to. The girls had a blast and they had yummy snacks to feed us. I got home after midnight and then was up first thing to go back to the conference for a full day of activities. We were fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the food was so delicious and it is always the best when I don't have to prepare it and feed others. They had games in the morning and spiritual speakers in the afternoon. Then a banquet and testimony meeting. It was really, really good. I think I was just as spiritually uplifted as the girls. It gives me hope for my kids when they are teenagers. We have some really great programs to help our youth make the right decisions as they grow up. After the banquet they had the cooks come in so we could thank them. A whole gym full of youth stood up and sang together "As I have Loved You". It was amazing. I'm sure everyone felt the spirit and it just made me grateful to belong to such a giving and loving church. We really have some great Youth. I had the best time but was pretty exhausted when I got home. It usually takes me a couple of days to recuperate. Another indication that I am not that young anymore. I really love working with the YW. I often joke that I will be putting up a good fight if Bishop tries to release me. It will be a sad day.
Love Jamberry!! Not so fun when things are too busy huh.
