Summer. (and maybe a little rant)

Jul 22, 2020

Well summer is in full force over here. We have been out enjoying nature as much as possible.

The kids have been spending some time with a few friends who are on our cohorts list.

We've been enjoying lots of bike ride's. Ryan and I did a 20 km the other day and I can't wait to see that number increase as the summer progresses.

Ty had a little mishap riding through the coulee's the other day. Flew right over his handle bars. He was a little beat up for a bit.

We've been spending some of the hotter afternoons at Park Lake. Sunshine, beach, water, and friends. What more can you ask for.

Hayley got a card in the mail from her teacher with a coupon for a free DQ treat and a frosty so she was very excited to collect. We love our teachers.

The boys have been working here and there with my Father in-law. They are gone this week so us girls had a little picnic at Henderson and then met up with Brit and the girls and walked around the lake and played at the park.

Gosh I love summer. We've got dentist appointments lined up and have also just been cleaning and organizing the house.

We just got word that school will be going back to almost normal in the Fall and I am so happy about that. We need some normalcy in our lives. I am not worried at all because it is proven that kids are the least likely to spread or have the virus. Also I felt very good about all the precautions that they will be taking. The virus will be around for awhile and its about being able to contain the spread as quickly as possible and keeping it away from those who are at high risk. I think that is easier done in a school then out in the public.

I know the numbers have been going up lately and that makes people panic a little but I honestly think its important to keep a level head and not let the media bring fear into your minds and hearts. Everyone is doing the best they can. Yes, I'm sure some people could be doing better, but just focus on you and doing what you can do to keep this thing under control. We still have to live our lives. We still have to take care of our mental and emotional needs. We need to love and support each other, not judge and criticize each other. You don't know everyone's situation or circumstances. Just be there to listen and support. We'll be fine. We'll make it through this. I just have one little rant about the mask's and then I will move on with the rest of my day. I've seen a petition going around wanting to make it mandatory to wear masks and this makes me very uncomfortable. You can't take people's choice's like that away from them. Again, you don't know everyone's situation. If you feel its important to wear one, then wear one. I think store's and business have the right to decide for their own establishment. If you go to a store or business that requires one, then wear one. But to force everyone to wear one is not okay and takes our freedom away. There are definitely times and places to wear them but I will definitely not be signing that petition. Just my opinion. But I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and being smart and staying healthy. Sending lots of love to all.
