We checked into the Waterton lakes Lodge, which is one of the very few hotels that stay open year round. They have a pool and hot tub, and a nice restaurant that stays open too. I believe it is the only place to eat during the off season. It was a beautiful, calm evening so we decided to go for a little walk. We walked down main street and down by the water. It was so eerie walking through the town because everything was closed and all boarded up. Kind of felt like a little ghost town.
I was especially sad that Wieners was closed. They have the best sweet potato fries |
Big Scoop all boarded up |
We had a really nice meal at the restaurant for both supper and breakfast. We woke up to a winter wonderland and had a perfect morning exploring. It was so quiet and peaceful and we only saw a handful of other people the whole time we were there.
The water was so clear |
On the way home we stopped off at a little Mexican restaurant in Twin Butte. It was definitely a neat experience but I didn't love my meal. Ryan loved his though and I've heard other great reviews so maybe I just didn't order the right thing.
We came across this cute little church on the drive home.
We had the perfect little getaway. I sure love this guy and all our adventures together.
