First Days.

Sep 17, 2017

We've been back into a regular schedule for a couple of weeks now.

The kids are back at school.

Nate is in grade 7 and started Jr. High. He is at a brand new school but is with pretty much all the same kids. He likes it so far. He is not one to talk my ear off about anything so that's all I can really say about that. He is excited to have his best friend in his class and he also has my cousin Nicole as one of his teacher's, which is really cool. I can't believe in only a few short months I will have a legit teenager on my hands. Here's what he had to say:

Teacher's: Ms Brett, Mrs. Swen, Mr. Moffat, Mrs. Craddock
Friends: Brayden, Tyson, Jessie, Wyatt
Favourite subject: Gym
Most looking forward to: Basketball
Like's most about grade 7: Getting to move around to different classes
What do you want to be when you grow up: I don't know

Ty is in grade 5. He has a new teacher this year. She is a newbie and is fresh out of school. He likes her so far and loves that he has a connection to her. My brother Cody dated her sister in-law (they are still friends so it is a good thing). School is not his most favourite thing but he is social and loves to be with his friends all day. Here's what he had to say:

Teacher: Mrs. Deeble
Friends: Mason, Cody, Noah, Titus
Favourite subject: Gym
Most looking forward to: Mini basketball
Favourite thing about grade 5: new teacher
Be when you grow up: baseball player

Ty also started football a few weeks ago and is loving it. He's had two games so far and has played on offense as the slotback. He scored his first touchdown last game and made some other really good plays. He's got great instincts and is doing very well. I don't know much about football but I know I love watching him play.

McKenna is in grade 4. She is in a new hallway and is now one of the big kids in division 2. She has a new teacher too and really likes her. She has been a great big sister to Hayley and keeps an eye on her and walks to and from school with her. This is what she had to say:

Teacher: Mrs. Sommerville
Friends: Kali, Chloe, Sage, Dakota
Favourite subject: Writing
Most looking forward to: I don't know
Favourite thing about grade 4: I don't know
Be when you grow up: Dance teacher

She is back at dance. This year she is in jazz, tap, and ballet and is also doing a foot strengthening class to get her feet ready for pointe in a few years. She is doing competition again this year and is in a tap, jazz, and ballet routine, a big ballet group, and a modern group. And then she is also doing a tap trio, ballet duet, and a ballet solo. She is so happy to be back at dance and loves having the studio as her second home.

Hayley started grade 1. She is doing awesome and loves her class and teacher. She hasn't complained once about the full days and is always happy and excited to go to school. I can't believe my baby is a full time student. Here is what she had to say:

Teacher: Mrs Eichhorn
Friends: Faith, Izzy, Ayla
Favourite subject: Music
Most looking forward to: Feeding the class pig (its paper)
Favourite thing about grade 1: having recess
Be when you grow up: ballet teacher

She also started dance. She is in tap, ballet, and jazz. She is starting competition this year and is very excited. Her favourite thing is performing in the year end show so with competition she'll get to perform a few more times. She is doing tap, ballet, and jazz group routines, and then a jazz duo. We just love our dance around here.

So what do I do with all my kids in school full time...babysit another child of course. I started watching my cousin's little boy Will a few years ago and although he is in Montessori full time this year I have his little sister Lily full time. She is almost two and is so sweet and fun. We all just adore her. We try to fill our mornings with walks, park dates, library time, stay n play, and swimming. Then she naps in the afternoon. It has been awesome so far.

Life is good.
