Week 3 and 4.

Apr 14, 2020

Can you believe we're going into our 5th week of social distancing. Time is actually just flying by for us even though we don't have much going on. Week 3 started off a little rocky for me which I mentioned in my blog a couple entry's ago. After that little melt down things have been good. I'm feeling content and we are just making the best out of the situation we are in. We have found our groove with our daily routine and are enjoying the quiet moments at home. Some times we go a little stir crazy but we find ways to let out that pent up energy. We've been getting together once a week with Brit and the girls. We figure we're both just staying home all the time and not seeing anyone else so its safe to get together once in awhile. It has been so good for the kids to get that time with their cousins and Brit and I always have the best visit's.

The weather has been pretty crappy for the most part. Snowy and cold, which I guess is a blessing because it makes it easy to just stay in the house.

So grateful for my fireplace and warm socks.

So grateful for the teenagers.

I went to the studio and emptied the girls locker and brought all their gear home. It felt weird and a little sad doing that, but its okay, we will be back soon. It was good to have some 6 ft conversations with a couple of the mom's and Miss Joy. Its funny how meaningful these little interactions are now.

Forgot how much stuff they have.

We've been playing lots of board games.

Easter came and went. Honestly we don't typically celebrate Easter. I don't know. I'm just kind of weird with holidays now. We usually get together with family and have a nice dinner but we don't celebrate the Easter bunny at all. I don't know. I just don't put too much thought and effort into this one. I love seeing how everyone else celebrates, we just choose not to with this one. I find greater joy in the little and simple traditions we create on a daily basis because we want to. We did have some of our dance friends doing a fundraiser where they were selling little Easter cookie kits that we got. They were so cute and so much fun. That was our Easter this year.

We get out and walk whenever we can.

Hayley's outfit is on point.

McKenna had a premiere party over zoom for her school dance show Luna. It was fun to watch the show again and we can't wait to get our copy of it.

And this...

Just looking so cute and grown up.

Well that's my quick little update. We can't control what life throw's at us, only how we respond to it. We can choose to find joy and make the best out of any situation or we can worry and complain and be miserable. I will always choose happiness. It doesn't mean that I won't feel worry or sadness or that I won't complain from time to time, but I feel it and then I choose to put it behind me and move forward. That has kind of been my mantra these past couple of weeks. One day at a time, one step in front of the other. Moving forward the best way I know how. I hope all is well with everyone. Sending lots of love and hope out into the universe.
