Hayley is 8 years old and in grade 3. She is doing well in school and has a good little group of friends that she hangs out with. She still loves to dance and I'm always impressed with how naturally she seems to move. I feel like she's really grown in dance over this past year and her memory is improving. She use to struggle so much with picking up choreography quickly but is definitely getting better. She is obsessed with Decendants right now, and watches it and listens to the music all.the.time. She loves calico critters and has a whole town set up in the dance room. She loves to play games with us and is quite witty. She says the funniest things sometimes that just make me realize she's not my baby anymore.
McKenna will be 12 in a couple of months and started middle school this year. She decided to go into Lethbridge for school so she could be in the dance program at Lakie. She loves being a gator. She is dancing a lot this year. She dances 4 days a week at school, and then 5 days a week at the studio. She loves it and is starting to have an interest in doing ballet intensives over the summer. Anybody want to sponsor her?!! She is blossoming into such a beautiful dancer (though I'm probably pretty biased) and I hope we can give her many opportunities so she can continue to grow. She has a good group of friends that she loves spending time with. She got her first phone (more like an ipod) this Christmas and is in heaven. She is confidant and always happy and positive. She has this maturity about her that always impresses me and she genuinely cares about people and wants everyone to succeed. I love the way she supports and cheers on others.
Ty will be 13 next month, an official teenager. He is over at the High School with Nate this year and is having a good experience so far. He is as social as ever and is always hanging out with friends. He made the jr basketball team and is enjoying that a lot right now. He is aggressive and confidant and he is improving a ton each time he gets out on that court. He loves doing flips and tricks and still loves playing his video games. He is such a free spirit and doesn't really want to be tied down to just one or two things. He likes having free time to do as he pleases and to just hang out with friends. He's been working really hard in school to improve his grade's and he is excited to do more snowboarding this year. He is funny and witty and is too smart for his own good. He has a big heart and truly cares about others and is convinced he is either going to be famous or a millionaire one day.
Nate just turned 15. His growing has seemed to slow down a bit but he is still hopeful that he'll surpass his Dad soon. He is on the Sr basketball team again this year and is just killing it. He came out more confidant and stronger then ever and I really love watching him do what he loves. He has promised to start studying for his learners so he will be ready to get his license in a year, which is just crazy. How can my baby be almost old enough for that. He works hard in school and takes pride on getting good grades. He also takes pride in his hair :) He too has a couple really good friends that he hangs out with all the time. He actually came strolling through the door at midnight last night. I am definitely not ready for that. He's pretty chill and laid back and just likes to do his own thing. He loves video games, and loves playing the guitar and the keyboard, but still won't sing. He is pretty independent. He is doing his own laundry, is probably the best at cleaning up after himself, and is pretty much the best 15 year old I know.
Ryan and I just celebrated our 16th anniversary by going to Zion's National Park. I was able to cross off hiking Angel's Landing off my bucket list and we had an amazing time together. The World we live in is so beautiful. Ryan is working hard and moving up in ranks and responsibility at work, and I got on the EA sub list at the elementary school here in Coalhurst and am loving it. I am hoping to eventually get a permanent position. I love working in the school. We decided to stay in our house instead of sell. Its such a beautiful home and is perfect for us that I just couldn't part with it. I'm not really sure what 2020 will bring us but we are sure to be living our best lives no matter what situation we are in.
Life is good.
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!! (as McKenna likes to say)
Love the Olsen's,
Ryan, Kelli, Nate, Ty, McKenna, and Hayley
