Then we visited and played games until bedtime. Grampa and the kids set up a tent downstairs and were so excited to have an indoor Christmas campout.
Christmas Eve morning we lazed around and played more games and visited. Ryan and I took off later and headed to Babb to pick up some packages. We were still waiting on one package and thankfully it was there when we got there. Apparently it had just arrived. We were worried Nate wouldn't get one of his presents on time, but luckily it worked out. When we got back we played in the snow and snowmobiled for a bit. I love riding on the back of the snowmobile. I even took a turn driving this year.
Lora and Ryan arrived and we got ready for Christmas Eve dinner. Turkey with all the fixings. It was delicious as usual. The kids did their scavenger hunt for their presents from Gramma and Grampa. Nate got a book about the the greatest players to play in the NBA, Ty got a minions toque, McKenna got earrings and nail polish, and Hayley got a Princess Sofia backpack and lunch kit. The kids loved their presents.
Then we had our little program. The kids did the Nativity.
It was quite the mini Nativity. We need some more grandkids over here. We sang silent night and watched a video of Christ's birth. Then we played a bunch of minute to winute games that were really fun. Its a new tradition we started last year and I'm glad we did it again this year. The adults did their gift exchange game. Ryan got some preserves that Steve made; tomato sauce, salsa, pickles, and peppers. I got a hot chocolate mug with all the fixings in it but ended up trading with Steve because he ended up with scarves. Then we opened our other gifts. We all got pajama's from Roy and Connie.
Ryan and I also got some $. The kids gave us a beautiful picture frame with an individual picture of each kids silhouette. Thanks to Roy and Connie for helping the kids put it together. We love it. Then we ate some treats, packed up, and headed home. We didn't get home till after 10;00pm. We hung stockings and headed right to bed. Christmas Eve is one of my favourite's.
