Staycation.

Sep 1, 2015

For the last 5 years or so Ryan and I have spent a weekend down in Kalispell for the Hasegawa retreat around this time of year. Seeing as Ryan no longer works for Hasegawa's we figured we wouldn't be invited to go on their annual trip. We decided we still needed to have some couple time before the summer ended so the kids went and stayed at the farm while we had a little staycation (a vacation spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions), just in case ya didn't know:) Friday evening we went out for supper and played some games at home. Saturday morning we headed to Babb to pick up the girls flower girl dresses, which are super cute, and then we drove the Chief Mountain highway back into Canada and headed to Waterton for the day. As we were driving to the border I remembered my passport expired sometime around August so I checked and sure enough it had expired at the beginning of the month. Luckily it wasn't a problem. The Chief Mountain Highway was really pretty. The border is pretty small and was actually a little busy.

We had fun in Waterton. We ate at Wiener's of Waterton, walked to Akamina Lake, got ice cream and then layed on the beach for the rest of the afternoon. The wind picked up later on but we still enjoyed laying on the beach Canadian style (fully dressed, I even had a jacket on). We headed back into Cardston and ate at Dave's burger place, then headed to the farm to pick up the kids.

It was the perfect little Staycation:)

You can just barely see the line going down the mountain to separate the two Countries. It was smoky from all the forest fires.

Love this man of mine

What the kids were doing while we were playing without them...I think they had fun:)
